Serial entrepreneur, born in 1973, father of 3 children, Miguel Espada is convinced that many solutions to the world’s great challenges today will come from the sea, and from nature in general. As more and more investors & entrepreneurs are being attracted by ESG investments (Environmental, Social and Governance), Miguel has decided to make a long-term commitment by creating slowlifecapital in 2020, a family office investing in projects with a high environmental and human impact.
The idea came to life while listening to an introductory session to the OPM Program at Harvard Business School in August 2020. Miguel was stroke by both the simplicity & strength of the mission statement : Business and Society Should Support Each Other. HBS’s mission is to Educate Leaders Who Make A Difference in The World. The “purpose of business is to make a decent profit decently." Miguel grew up in a rural area of Occitanie, in the South of France in a pioneer solar and bioclimatic home designed by Michel Gerber, a Swiss-American architect. Raised by a builder father and a psychomotrician mother, Miguel discovered organic food and yoga in the 80s. He had the chance to grow up in an environment where values were based on physical and mental well-being, the relationship to others and nature, and the drive to achieve a balanced & meaningful life. Miguel has always strived to give purpose to his entrepreneurial ventures outside of the box, and from now on to slowlifecapital’s investments.
